Heritage of War and Peace is a virtual museum and living archive devoted to the deep, multilingual, and cross-border history of Mosul. Spanning centuries and shaped by countless communities, this platform brings together a rich tapestry of: Oral histories from Mosulis across generations, faiths, and geographies Rare archival documents in Arabic, Ottoman Turkish, Persian, Hebrew, Syriac, French, and English Photographs capturing everyday life, cultural heritage, war, and rebuilding Newspaper clippings, journals, and press material from Iraq and the diaspora This project is not just about remembering the past—it’s about reclaiming it. Through curated exhibits, community contributions, and academic integrity, we aim to document Mosul as it was, as it endured, and as it aspires to become. We invite scholars, artists, families, and displaced voices to contribute, explore, and preserve the history of Mosul in all its complexity.
