About HERMLE Additive Manufacturing
Innovative temperature control and material combination as a service. New possibilities with the Metal Powder Application (MPA) by HERMLE. Hermle Maschinenbau GmbH (HMG), based in Ottobrunn near Munich, is a subsidiary of Maschinenfabrik Berthold HERMLE AG. The company focuses on the development of the HERMLE MPA technology towards new materials/material combinations and the production of customer projects as a service. We offer extensive manufacturing capacities with which we realize the production of small to large components for our customers using the patented MPA technology. HERMLE MPA technology combines additive manufacturing in the form of a cold gas spraying process with 5-axis milling and thus represents an innovative process for the production of metallic multi-material components. Metal powders are accelerated to very high speeds with the help of a carrier gas and applied to the respective substrate through a nozzle, whereby the powders are compacted in layers without melting to form solid bodies. The diameter of the powder jet emerging from the nozzle of several millimetres and possible build-up rates of up to 900 ccm/h make the MPA process ideal for a comparatively massive volume build-up on small to large components. The MPA process is characterized by the following features: - High application rates - Wide range of materials - Lowest stresses The combination of material build-up and machining on one machine opens up unimagined possibilities for the production of complex metal components. From the integration of efficient cooling channels to sophisticated material combinations - see for yourself the outstanding possibilities of this additive manufacturing technology. As a service provider, we are happy to support you with our expertise from a large number of projects we have already implemented.
