About HEROES Alliance

The HEROES Alliance is a European Universities alliance. HEROES' nine professional higher education institutions are committed to transforming the talents of a new generation of citizens into superpowers that advance the smart regional resilience of people, businesses and nature. 'Smart regional resilience' is defined as the capacity of regions to anticipate, adapt, and recover from disruptions by strategically leveraging smart technologies, innovative solutions, and community engagement. The HEROES Alliance focuses on human-centred, nature-positive and resilience-enhancing digital innovations. To achieve our purpose, HEROES focuses on (i) quality professional education for students and lifelong learners, (ii) impactful practice-oriented scientific research, and (iii) collaboration between like-minded partners. The partners of the HEROES Alliance are: Thomas More University of Applied Sciences (Belgium), Fontys University of Applied Sciences (Netherlands), University College Northern Denmark (Denmark), Polytechnic University of Beja (Portugal), Deggendorf Institute of Technology (Germany), Halmstad University (Sweden), Seinäjoki University of Applied Sciences (Finland), Vilniaus Kolegija/Higher Education Institution (Lithuania) and Mendel University (Czech Republic).
