About Heroic Diabetes

We leverage the power of gaming for children diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) through our exclusive license with Heroic Game Day's educational video game platform. Our open world game allows students to freely explore missions that teach pathophysiology, options for treatment, principles of nutrition, and how to cope with T1D. We welcome connections with leaders in diabetes technology who want their brand in our game, where we can teach them how to use insulin pumps, continuous glucose monitors, and other proven technologies. We seek to be the source of hope starting on day 1 of diagnosis for these children and their families! Our scalability and accessibility makes us uniquely able to provide resources to people facing negative impacts from social determinants of health. Our game can be played on anything that runs the internet, and we invite our students to receive daily learning and support by playing for just 20-30 minutes a day. The game is set up like Minecraft, but educational, and children also interact with peers with T1D in the game. We also invite experts in the field of diabetes to help contribute to our curriculum to ensure the quality that can only be attained through interdisciplinary collaboration. In time, we will also create curriculum on childhood prediabetes and T2D, as well as all chronic diseases. Early and effective education using a modern, scalable platform is the solution that the United States and the world needs to combat the chronic disease epidemic!
