About Heron Music

At Heron Music we clear the grey area and keep the magic, we're a bespoke music agency for advertising and film with close relations to the international music industry. Our mission is to make the process of creating custom music more insightful, to create more trust and thus freedom to benefit the creative process. We think it’s time, with the shift of more and more brands producing in-house and agency content developers having to be more creative with budget and timings, to open up the process of communication and standardize some of it. The studio was founded in 2020 by composer Guido Maat and business professional Ella Sonke, right in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic. After being in a relationship since 2007, working together for 5 years during mutual (freelance) jobs and having two beautiful kids, the time was right to join forces and make our dream come true by starting our own company. We make a great team and complement each other perfectly, both work wise as in our private life. There is a fine line between the two and that's how we like it, we want the studio to have both a homely and a professional feel. We feel blessed everyday to be situated in the beautiful building Het Sieraad in Amsterdam West. Together with Hans Koomans we built the studio of Guido's dreams and created a beautiful and 'gezellig' workplace for Ella and clients.
