About HETEN
HETEN is an integrated Engineering Firm and Accredited Testing Laboratory, each specializing in welding. Expertise includes structures (buildings, bridges, pipelines, ships, etc.), welding applications, process optimization (for productivity, reliability, cost, etc.), consulting, filler metal certification, testing (procedure and personnel qualification, materials validation, mechanical testing, etc.), inspection services, and training. Project recovery, mediation, and expert witness services are also available. HETEN Engineering holds a Certificate of Authorization to practice engineering in Ohio. HETEN Laboratory is accredited to ISO 17025. HETEN has the staff and resources to address your welding needs including engineering, design, production problems, failure analysis, process development/optimization, and quality system development/implementation. A vast library of most public welding standards speeds the evaluation of requirements. Welding equipment includes SMAW, GMAW (including pulse), FCAW, GTAW, PAW, and OFW; manual and mechanized methods are available for most processes. Ovens for post-weld heat treatment (PWHT) and specimen ageing are also on hand. An in-house machine shop enables rapid creation of mock-ups, prototypes, and joint geometries for projects as well as preparation of test specimens from weldments. Testing equipment includes tensile tester (60,000 lbf), Charpy tester (240 ft-lbf), bend testers (AWS, ASME, API 1104, etc.), Rockwell hardness, Knoop micro-hardness, metallographic preparation equipment, and a variety of microscopes. By combining technical expertise and a wide range of welding, machining, and testing equipment under one roof, HETEN is able to rapidly address your welding engineering and testing needs.
