About HiDALGO2 Project

🇪🇺 HiDALGO2 is an EU Horizon funded project, with 8 partners from 7 countries 🧩. It is funded bu EURO HPC Joint Undertaking. As a European Centre of Excellence, it will provide tools in order to tackle global challenges affecting society and the environment, using computational fluid dynamics, high-performance data analytics (#HPC, HPAD), and AI. It aims to bring together the aforementioned advanced solutions to provide tools that would mitigate the tragic consequences of climate and urban development. HiDALGO2 stands for “HPC and Big Data Technologies for Global Challenges”. The project’s vision is to extend the possibilities of the world’s leading scientific applications in the field of environmental protection, to effectively analyse phenomena on a large scale and with high precision that threaten human life and health. The project focuses on five use cases from the environmental area: improving air quality in urban agglomerations, energy efficiency of buildings, renewable energy sources, wildfires and meteo-hydrological forecasting. The goals and ambitions of the HiDALGO2 project go far beyond the current state of knowledge and application possibilities, exploring areas that have not been explored so far.
