About High Country Humane Society
Opening Jan. 2, 2019, High Country Humane is the official animal shelter of the City of Flagstaff and Coconino County. Its mission is to elevate animal welfare throughout the County and ensure that no lost or homeless domestic animal loses its life because of a lack of time, space, resources or due to a treatable condition. In addition to providing basic animal shelter services, High Country Humane will offer programs that keep families and their animals together so they don't have to surrender them and educational programs to promote animal welfare. With help from our volunteers, supporters and the community at large, High Country Humane will become a resource for all pet owners and the high-caliber shelter our community wants and deserves.
