About Hilltop Ridge Farms
Hilltop Ridge Farms Ltd operates above the holiday village of Kinloch, in the north west Lake Taupo area. The farm has been long established as a dairy and cropping property and the conversion to a dairy goat operation commenced in June 2009. Goat milk is collected at the property and transported for manufacture into higher value, longer shelf life products than could be achieved through processing into liquid milk. As the world population increases and the emerging Asian markets become wealthier demand for trusted products becomes a strong economic driver. Recent experiences world-wide of food harming humans and animals has created a public that is more aware of food safety risks. This is the opportunity recognised in the Hilltop Ridge Farms Ltd; our business model recognises the opportunity and will be successful through the development of a trusted brand. The business is in a growth phase and is expanding its goat milking operations, the goal being to provide the raw material to manufacture and supply branded, fast moving consumer products to an international market, principally China. The initial product is goat milk infant formula which globally commands a much higher price than cow milk based formula.
