About Himalko Tea

Himalko Tea offers premium teas made in Nepal and the rest of the Himalayan region. Although Nepal produces some premium teas, only limited amount of them have been sold to the United States and other Western nations. All teas are harvested from the same plant, camellia sinensis and the taste can range from malty to mellow. Our teas are sourced from high altitude hills ranging from 6000 to 8000 ft. The gives teas in this region have a distinctive taste and strong flavor. The tealeaves are hand plucked by local farmers ensuring community involvement and quality green leaves for making tea leaves. High elevation is conducive to high quality tea. In addition to its great flavor, tea is also a healthy beverage. Tea contains polyphenols such as theaflavins, catechins and flavonoids, types of antioxidants that reduces free radicals which leads to prevention of many diseases like cardiovascular disease and hypertension. In addition to promoting health, the polyphenols are plants chemicals that give the tea its distinct taste and aroma. With the launch of the Himalko brand, the company sells its teas to both wholesale and retail customers as well as to individual customers.
