About Hipwell International Production Services (HIPS)
John Hipwell, founder and CEO of HIPS is a versatile and experienced Film Producer with credits on Feature Films (21), Documentaries (16), TV and Cinema Commercials (86), Corporate (110), Video Art (25), international co-productions and broadcast TV drama. Trained at the Victorian College of the Arts (early 1970’s) (Swinburne Campus) in Film/TV production, he then worked on early iconic films including Alvin Purple (1973), One More Minute (1979) and Mad Max (1979). He has twelve Producer credits on Australian/International feature films including, Australian/Canadian Arctic Blast (2010) (Co-Executive Producer) the award-winning Is This Real the World (2015), (Producer) and South Korean Road to Boston (2020) (Producer). John has received numerous film and TV awards for his feature film, documentary, and short film productions. His Video Artworks are collected by public (Inc. Australian Centre of Moving Image (ACMI), Australian Jewish Museum, Deakin University) and private collections (Australia & International.). John is included in many publications and broadcasts, and has held various academic positions and is an active and successful mentor. He was a board member of Arts and Recreation Training Victoria from 1989 to 1998 and was an energetic board member of Open Channel Co-operative Limited from 2008 to 2013.
