We represent family-owned wineries from Argentina, Chile, Uruguay and Spain and Brazil and distribute them throughout the United Kingdom. Our Argentine selection covers the widest range of regions, product types and price points currently available in the UK. From the southernmost region of Patagonia, up through the popular Mendoza and Argentine Rioja regions and finishing in the North in Salta, home to the highest altitude vineyards in the world, located at 1,700 to 3,000 meters above sea level. As a result, we can say with certainty, that our wine selection truly reflects the identity and terroir that this vast country has to offer. This part of the portfolio includes entry level wines from medium -sized wineries, a core middle range as well as premium offerings from some of Argentina’s most highly-respected boutique producers. Our aim is to cater for the taste and commercial necessities of our On-Trade and Independent Retail customers alike. Lest we forget, Spain is where our journey at Hispamerchants started, and we have, over the years, worked hard to build solid relationships with family-owned wineries, particularly those that focus on grape varieties which are indigenous to each DO. Starting with the ever-popular DOCA Rioja, we source wines from 6 DOs, mostly from northern regions, from exclusive Priorats in the North East, all the way west to the Albariños of DO Rías Baixas. We have even ventured away from the Iberian mainland, adding wines from the Balearic island of Mallorca. Uruguay is the latest addition to our portfolio. We are very excited about this country’s potential as regards winemaking. Their Tannat has been acclaimed for some time, but their most amazing reds are produced from Merlot, a variety perfectly suited to the unique terroir.
