About Hispanic American Community Education and Services - HACES ©
Hispanic American Community Education and Services - HACES, ensures that every immigrant that walks through its doors gets accurate and useful information that enables them to build successful lives in a country made by immigrants. HACES began as an initiative 12 years ago in the minds of our two founding community leaders (Mario Peña and María Elena Jonas) who heeded the overwhelming pleas for help from the hundreds of immigrant families they were serving at the beginning of their mission in the early 1990’s. Our current services focus on family unity, civic engagement, community resources awareness and advocacy. Our programs are: the Family Unification, Immigrant Family Resource, Affordable Care Act Assistance, Citizenship and Naturalization, Education and Access to Resources, and Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). This is the essence of why an organization like HACES is vital to our communities. The rapid growth of the immigrant - multicultural population in Lake County and beyond makes it imperative to provide support to families in their transition to becoming documented and fully-participating members of their communities.
