About HIT Productions
Recognised as Australia’s Premier Theatre Touring Company HIT Productions is committed to touring outstanding mainstream productions, with a major focus on Australian playwrights, to capital city, outer metropolitan, regional and remote venues Australia wide. Over the last two decades Christine Harris’ theatre productions have garnered extensive critical and industry acclaim and featured some of Australia’s most high-profile actors including Jacki Weaver, John Wood, Peter Phelps, Max Gillies, Amanda Muggleton, Helen Morse, Samuel Johnson, Noelene Brown, Henri Szeps, John Jarratt and multiple Gold Logie award winner Lisa McCune. Playwrights whose work she has produced include David Williamson, Louis Nowra, Hannie Rayson, Joanna Murray-Smith and Nick Enright. Since Christine’s first tour of Hotel Sorrento in 1999, she has built a remarkable body of work. Her delivery of 61 major theatre tours by the end of 2013 across 835.5 weeks has included some of the most extensive tours ever staged in Australia. These include Jeanie Linders’ Menopause The Musical® (2008-2012) which ran for a phenomenal 152.5 weeks across 276 venues; David Williamson’s The Club, which ran for 35 weeks across 80 venues during its 2007-08 season; and the 2012 season of Williamson’s Let the Sunshine, which ran for 24 weeks across 59 venues. Recognising a remarkable contribution to the Arts and a long and successful touring history, the Victorian State Government is funding an annual theatre program of HIT’s touring productions.
