About HiVE Vancouver Society

We have wild dreams of building a network of knowledge, connection and innovative action in order to take on society’s most complex challenges. The HiVE supports and amplifies the social impact sector by providing the social cohesion, human capital and resources that enable our members and partners to thrive. We do this important work by mixing one-part shared-space with one-part collaboration and a dash of love. What exactly is Social Impact? To us, social impact means creating a sustainable, just and inclusive economy that values people and planet above profit. We believe that in order to create this aforementioned social impact, Vancouver’s change-makers need to have a strong culture of collaboration along with accessible support services in place. We’re making this happen by using the powerful tool of shared-space to co-work, host events, deliver programming, and build community. We believe shared space can be used to build community, encourage collaboration, and create accessibility; we use it to combat isolation, create deep and meaningful personal and professional connections, and to make our city just a little bit more affordable. Our members come from diverse sectors, backgrounds and places; but they all have a passion to make the world a better place. Our community is made up of non-profits, for-profits, entrepreneurs, creatives, activists, professionals and techies who are challenging the status quo. Together, we have skills, experience and knowledge in community economic development, green building, youth empowerment, food systems, aboriginal affairs, sustainability, law, design, social labs and everything in between!
