About Hoitotyön tutkimussäätiö (Hotus)

Hoitotyön tutkimussäätiöllä (Hotus) on kansallisesti ainutlaatuinen tehtävä toimia erityisesti näyttöön perustuvan hoitotyön edistäjänä sekä hoitotyötä koskevan tutkimusnäytön välittäjänä. Hotus kokoaa, arvioi ja tiivistää tutkimusnäyttöä helpommin käytäntöön sovellettavaan muotoon. Säätiön tehtävä on toiminnallinen, joten kyseessä ei ole apurahoja jakava säätiö. Hotuksen perustehtävänä on näyttöön perustuvan hoitotyön kehittäminen ja vakiinnuttaminen terveydenhuollossa käytettävien menetelmien laadun ja vaikuttavuuden vahvistamiseksi sekä väestön terveyden edistämiseksi. Tätä tehtävää Hotus toteuttaa mm. julkaisemalla kansallisia, näyttöön perustuvia Hotus-hoitosuosituksia sekä Näyttövinkkejä. Lisäksi Hotus tukee näytön käyttöönottoa ja näyttöön perustuvan toiminnan arviointia. Perustehtävän toteuttamiseksi säätiö tekee laajaa yhteistyötä sosiaali- ja terveydenhuollon palvelu- ja koulutusorganisaatioiden, terveystieteellistä tutkimusta tekevien sekä muiden sosiaali- ja terveydenhuoltoalan toimijoiden kanssa. Yhteydessämme toimivat WHO:n hoitotyön yhteistyökeskus ja Suomen JBI yhteistyökeskus.
