CIC is a leading blue chip conglomerate in Sri Lanka. Initially a part of Imperial Chemical Industries (UK), Chemical Industries (Colombo) Limited was incorporated in 1964 as a supplier of high-quality chemical products for the local market. The company, now known as CIC Holdings PLC, is one of Sri Lanka’s leading conglomerates, and through the years has become a household name through its many ventures. Initially a company that manufactured locally produced paints and pipes used for agriculture, CIC’s business expansions have taken it into several key industries in the country. While a large part of this includes Agriculture and its related businesses, CIC also has a presence in the packaging, herbal products, health & personal care products, industrial raw materials, stationery, adhesives, and consumer products markets. CIC’s success owes itself to its drive to succeed and this has enabled it to re-align and re-position itself in sectors that show high growth.
