About Holos Institute
Holos Institute is a nonprofit counseling center and training institute with over twenty-five years of providing high quality counseling services and unique public programs to the diverse populations of the Bay Area. Our counseling clinics are located in San Francisco and Oakland and offer a range of affordable, holistic psychotherapy services with advanced level MFT, PCC, and ASW Interns. In addition, Holos Institute serves as a public and professional forum for topics in ecopsychology, ecotherapy, and other nature-based practices through ongoing lectures, workshops, and experiential programs. The name "Holos" is derived from the Greek term for wholeness. Holos Institute re-envisions the therapeutic process to include mind, body, and spirit as well as the living community of which we are all a part. We honor the intimate relationships between the diverse human cultural heritage and that which we know as the natural world: the plants, animals and living Earth upon which we all depend. Our vision is to provide effective and affordable counseling services that integrate the wisdom of an ecologically-based psychology into clinical practices. We serve to restore balance to the mind, body, and spirit, and to generate kindness toward the greater community.
