Summary:- I have worked in the building industry for over 30 years, starting in the family building company for many years gaining a good sound training and knowledge in all aspects of building sound warm efficient homes for the climate, later starting my own building company. My great interests were to convert stone barns into modern warm living spaces. In addition built and project managed many new homes from start to completion using up to the minute products and techniques. My focus over the years has been to source and match the newest and inovative products and systems available. Under slab heating with good `R` value insulation were used in the new builds with an emphasis on quality and low energy efficiency. I am currently in the process of building a timber framed house using geothermal under slab heating in conjunction with a european insulation board, eco friendly polyester products and the use of sound solutions in the internal walls and mid floors. We are hoping to use an additional super thin insulation from europe which we feel will have a significant part to play in the future in New Zealand homes.
