About Home Live Art

Home Live Art produce performance and community gatherings across Hastings, the South East and beyond. -- Home Live Art bring audiences and artists together to create extraordinary shared experiences. We produce a variety of performance events including the annual Knotty Festival of Performance and Salty, queer performance party. We support artists to develop their work through commissions, mentoring and performance opportunities. We work in collaboration with an ever-growing range of venues, organisations, festivals and institutions. We are committed to accessibility and building new audiences for the arts. Home Live Art Vision Our vision is to be a Home for Live Art in Hastings and the South East We use the term Live Art as a way to describe a performance that does not fit neatly into any category. Live Art is about creating a space for audiences and artists to come together and share a meaningful experience with each other. It can be surprising, provocative and sometimes a little bit challenging, it can also be gentle, reflective and inspiring – often it can be all of these things at the same time. Hastings is a creative town with an appetite for the bold and brave. The perfect Home for Live Art. Goals Our main goals are: – To develop new sites and audiences for live art and experimental performance in Hastings, the South East and beyond. – To create the ideal conditions for local, national and international artists to develop and present their work. – To ensure multiple voices are heard including those that are often marginalised.
