About Home on Me Collective

We are Sahara and Zehra, co-founders of the Home on Me Collective. We seek to make the arts more less Eurocentric, ableist and elitist. We explore innovative ways to give artists platforms, and to use the powerful medium of curation to tell beautiful stories. We also use our resources and donations to administer free art workshops to those who desire. We are currently working on the Empty Wall Project, where we teach colour theory, still life, charcoal drawing and ceramics to children and teens at the Afghan and Central Asian Association. Home on Me was born as an exhibition we collaborated on in our student days. Where an open call allowed for us to give students of all backgrounds a way to express what they consider home and how they carry it with them. The exhibition in February 2023 at Hoxton Arches was a great success, and so we became business partners after graduating from University of the Arts London.
