Welcome to Home-Start Cambridgeshire. Home-Start is the UK’s leading family support charity; a voluntary organisation offering support to families who have at least one child under five when family life becomes difficult. All round the country local schemes recruit and train volunteers to support local families with young children at home. Our mission at Home-Start Cambridgeshire is to give every child in the best possible start in life, by empowering parents with the skills, knowledge and emotional resilience to raise their children to flourish. We achieve this by offering targeted, compassionate, confidential , volunteer-led home-visiting & group support to any family who needs it. We help families by building their resilience to better cope with a range of diverse issues such as isolation, postnatal illness, multiple births, disability, bereavement or those who are just finding parenting a struggle. We provide practical and emotional support to help build a family’s confidence. The ethos of Home-Start Cambridgeshire can best be described as ‘one parent helping another parent at a time when they need it most’.
