About Homeschool UK -Jenny Sandler

Jenny Sandler is an extremely experienced educator working with children and adolescents both in and out of school with special educational needs (autism, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, SPD) who are not reaching their potential in a traditional school environment. She takes an individualised, child centred approach and emphasises supporting executive functioning as a way to enhance learning and cognition. In addition to obtaining two masters’ degrees (Autism in Children and Literacy Learning and Literacy Difficulties). Additionally, Jenny is a trained in Executive Function Coach through Connections in Mind. Neurodivergent children and adolescents often need support developing their executive functioning skills to enable them to manage their workload, emotions and relationships and Jenny works with young people and their families to create sustainable habits to improve learning and general life management. She also helps parents with their own executive functioning challenges who then feel empowered and able to better to support their children. Jenny offers consultation sessions with parents and training seminars to schools in order to help parents and teachers understand the myriad of ways neurodivergency may present and the best practices for implementing accommodations and support. Placing the young person’s interests at the centre of any discussion is central to Jenny’s ethos and philosophy and her personal and professional experience allows her to advocate for a child within the parameters of mainstream education.
