About Hoosier FWD, Inc

Hoosier FWD was inspired by our son Gage who was born with Hydrocephalus & Spasticity. Once Gage was born we learned quickly how medical bills can pile up and soon become overwhelming. As we were in and out of Riley Hospital we began to see we were not alone. As the medical bills rolled in we kept hearing "Gage's diagnosis does not qualify him for Medicaid." "You make too much money to qualify for assistance." We had a group of friends that came together and we hosted a kickball tournament to raise money to help pay for Gage's medical bills. We realized how lucky we were so we decided to help out a few families with some of the money that was raised. The next year everyone started asking if we were going to host another fundraiser; however, this time we did a golf outing. It was then that we decided to start a foundation specifically designed to raise money for families facing financial hardships due to medical bills for children with special needs that do not qualify for Medicaid or Financial Assistance.
