About HOPE Network for Single Mothers
HOPE Network offers Greater Milwaukee single mothers connections, resources, and opportunities to build self-reliance and strong families. Any woman raising a child and residing in Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Waukesha, Washington, or Racine County can pay $5 annual dues to join HOPE Network. Members have access to a free portable crib for new babies, along with safe sleep education and a large layette bag filled with new infant supplies. Since 1982, we've provided cribs to more than 3,000 local families. They receive ongoing support through our free family enrichment and events, our "Network News" quarterly resource magazine, and our Mother's Trading Post, a clothing and diaper bank on Milwaukee's south side. Finally, members can apply for our annual scholarships, which can be used for post-secondary tuition or for childcare while the mother attends school. In 2019, we awarded $21,800 in scholarships to 8 mothers.
