About Hope Rescue Mission of the City of Reading
Since 1894 Hope Rescue Mission has been a place of refuge for the homeless men of Berks County, PA. We shelter over 1,000 men every year through four residential programs that allow men to work while they transition back into the community as productive and independent individuals. In 2023, we expanded our mission with The Lighthouse Women and Children's Center, which offers women and children an environment of safety, dignity and compassion while they are getting back on their feet.
