About Hope Springs

Hope Springs is a Bangalore-based not-for-profit organisation that aims to improve the health and well-being of vulnerable communities across rural Karnataka and India through an innovative adoption model. By and large, community development has been neglected and the basic right to Water, Information, Sanitation, and Healthcare (WISH) has been disregarded in many villages, orphanages and old age homes in and around the state. Hope Springs was formed on the firm foundation of young and innovative thinking to find sustainable solutions to these problems and lift families and individuals out of poverty, in addition to raising awareness about the livelihoods of many rural Indian families. Hope Springs was registered on the 6th of August, 2013 in Bangalore, India. It began its operations with free medical camps in four small villages and slums within the state of Karnataka, where about 400 people were reached. Hope Springs also began to work with a senior citizens home in Channapatna and an orphanage for abandoned children in Kothanur, providing medical camps on request. Having reflected on the first year of inception, the organisation has made the decision to narrow its focus, to ensure programmes make an adequate and sustainable long-term impact, whilst developing a strong model to work and be able to expand to other communities.
