Hopelands Cancer Centre comprises a group practice of experienced specialist oncologists who collectively aspire to offer optimal oncological management to those in need of this specialized medical care. The practice, based primarily in Durban and Hilton started out as a small group of 3 oncologists in the late 1990’s. Since then, the organization has expanded over the past decade to provide access to oncology care for many patients at our satellite clinics in Pietermaritzburg, Port Shepstone, Newcastle, Ladysmith, Isipingo and Umhlanga. Our Medical staff now includes 12 partners who consult between these venues making the Hopelands practice, the largest oncology group in KZN and one of the largest in the country. Through strategic partnerships with various hospital groups, we have implemented access to advanced contemporary Radiotherapy technologies that enable optimal treatment with improved outcomes for our patients. Some of these technologies include Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy (SBRT), Stereotactic Radiosurgery (SRS), Image Guided Radiotherapy (IGRT), Intensity Modulated Radiotherapy (IMRT) and advanced Prostate and Gynaecological Brachytherapy. Our accredited outpatient chemotherapy administration facilities are attended by our dedicated and compassionate oncology nursing sisters. Every effort is made to provide a comfortable and convivial environment to facilitate the daunting process of undergoing intravenous chemotherapy treatments. We take considerable pride in offering professional and up to date evidenced based conventional treatment to those confronted with a cancer diagnosis and we strive to provide a quality service to those who entrust their care to us.
