About HopeNow - Empowering Trafficked People
HOPENOW'S PRIMARY AREAS OF ACTION: 📌 Outreach and social work in the prostitution environment on the streets of Copenhagen, in danish prisons, detention centers, asylum centers, departure centers, churches, etc., identify trafficked people. 📌 Psychosocial and therapeutic support and trauma therapy so that individuals can process trauma and gain improved self-esteem. Also, we offer support as a bishop. 📌 Legal and personal advice focuses on self-help to strengthen individuals' ability to act, access to additional assistance, and improve life situations. 📌 Offer a free meal and other necessities. An important element of trust-building and reassuring relationship work. HOPENOW'S PROFILE: 📌 We are the NGO that has identified the largest number of trafficked people in Denmark. 📌 We are the only Danish NGO working with both trafficked men and women. 📌 We have helped set a legal precedent for dealing with trafficked persons according to EU law in this area through our legal expertise. 📌 We were awarded the European Crime Prevention Award in 2014 by the EU Crime Prevention Network (EUCPN) for our preventive work against human trafficking WE ARE FUNDED BY: ✅ The Department for Gender Equality under the Ministry of Environment and Food ✅ Oak Foundation ✅ Independently organized fundraising events ✅ Private donations ✅ Volunteers and doctors, nurses, dentists, and other health professionals giving their services and time for free.
