We are a family run and owned business, successfully operating for the past 40 years. Originally established as a property development company, we have since branched our into concrete, aggregates and other complementary services. We have two concrete plants in the South West of England, both plants have an 8m3 Erie Strayer bowl mixers and are capable of producing 160m3 per hour. At the Heart of the Erie mixer are four buckets and four blades uniquely manufactured and positioned to provide the most thorough mixing action found in a drum mixer today. As water, aggregate and cement are charged into the drum, the four blades work to pull the materials forward. The four buckets then act to plough the material back. As the drum turns, the aggregate, water and cement are continuously folded back together to provide a complete uniform coating of the cement paste to the aggregates. The mixing action is, in fact, so complete and thorough that the Erie mixer has been approved for specification mix times in as little as 30 seconds. We are also able to offer concrete pumping services with a wide range of pumps. Concrete pumps are great labour saving devices because they can place concrete with great accuracy and controlled volume. We can provide and deliver aggregates across most of the South West. We also have large stock piles of materials at our Wincanton Depot in the heart of Somerset for independent collection. We are fully compliant with our own Waste Carriers Licence and registered tipping facilities. Hopkins can even excavate the material using its own machines and operators enabling us to give you the most competitive all-in price. Our latest venture is the revolutionary Hopkins Ready Jet which is a robotic concrete mixer drum cleaning machine which eliminates the need for human entry into concrete mixer drums for cleaning. We are also the sole distributors in the UK for Ready Jet.
