About horizont3000
Buen vivir for all: horizont3000 strives for sustainable, collective development. As an Austrian NGO working in sustainable development cooperation, we implement quality programmes and projects in cooperation with partner organisations through co-financing, advisory and knowledge management. The two main sectors in which we operate are rural development and human rights. Rural development encompasses the ecological use of natural resources, supporting climate justice measures, spreading the use of renewable energy and establishing food sovereignty through ecological agriculture. The human rights sector focusses on improving and defending the rights of socio-culturally, economically or politically marginalised groups such as women, children and youth and indigenous communities. Strengthening organisations within the civil society is also important to us, as we believe they are change agents towards justice and ecological sustainability. Our head office is located in Vienna but horizont3000 also has regional and country offices in East Africa, Central America, Mozambique, and Senegal. This allows us a close proximity to the partner organisations that we work with.
