Horyzon ist die Schweizer Entwicklungsorganisation für Jugendliche. Sie wurde 1969 als gemeinnütziger Verein gegründet und hat ihren Sitz in Olten. Seit 2009 ist Horyzon eine Stiftung, die keine kommerziellen Ziele verfolgt, keinen Gewinn erstrebt und im Rahmen der gesetzlichen Bestimmungen des Bundes und des Kantons arbeitet. Die Stiftung Horyzon und ihre Partner arbeiten in einem weltweiten, interdisziplinären Netzwerk von Organisationen der Entwicklungszusammenarbeit. Horyzon ist Teil der internationalen YMCA / YWCA (Young Men’s / Women’s Christian Association). Horyzon ist aktuell in vier verschiedenen Ländern tätig und arbeitet dort mit nationalen und lokalen YMCA und YWCA zusammen. Die Ziele der Projekte von Horyzon sind in erster Linie, die Lebenssituation von Jugendlichen zu verbessern und Bildung im lebenspraktischen Bereich anzubieten. Die Projektarbeit investiert hauptsächlich in die Berufsbildung und die Gesundheitserziehung und unterstützt Jugendliche darin, für ihre Rechte einzustehen. --- Horyzon is the swiss development organisation for youth, which was founded in 1969 as a non-profit association and is based in Olten. Since 2009 Horyzon is recognized as a non-profit foundation that does not pursue commercial aims and is working in accordance with the provisions of the cantonal and federal laws. Horyzon is currently active in four different countries, working with national and local YMCA (Young Men's Christian Association) and YWCA (Young Women's Christian Association). The goals of Horyzon's projects are primarily to improve the living conditions of young people and to offer education in the field of life practice. The project work invests mainly in vocational training and health education and supports young people in defending their rights.
