About Hospital Clinic Home Center Instructional Corp "ACE Integration Head Start"

A.C.E. Integration Head Start (in Bushwick, Brooklyn) was designed and the program was implemented in 1994 to focus on the needs of children. Our purpose as a preschool is to stimulate learning in all developmental areas, while caring for the children’s health and nutritional needs. Also, to foster each child’s social skills. This is achieved by our children “accepting” themselves and others, expressing their “creativity and utilizing the environment (ecology) for learning”. Thus, the acronym A.C.E. The organization and its board first priority was to open and operate the Head Start program in a temporary site until the building for our permanent site was renovated. This was a short-term goal. Our long-term goal was to build a multi-service Head Start program that would offer literacy classes, career training, counseling services, etc. Organizational goals are established perennially based on input provided by the staff and governing bodies of the center. This happens after the evaluation of the monitoring and self-assessment results, which outline program deficiencies and strengths and suggestions for program improvement and/or enhancement by the above parties.
