History The hotel exists since 1628, then known as Huys In De Swaen which means that the hotel is over 400 years old. At that time, De Zwaan was an inn and brewery. Over the years the Swan was a meeting place. A place from which the region can be explored. A resting place for a good night's sleep. A place for refreshment, the Brasserie can accommodate 36 guests. Let's go back to the 18th century, when the decay deployment by military occupation and heavy war estimates. After 1830 turns the tide and the construction of the railway Venlo-Nijmegen region gets an economic boost. Remarkable is the enormous growth of the sheep trade. The traders are active throughout Europe and beyond into Argentina. The second World War is an important turning point in the history of Venray. Much of the center is destroyed or damaged. Venray forced new avenues and in 1952, the industrialization is well underway.
