About House of Bariki
House of Bariki was born from a quiet admiration for craftsmanship—an art practiced slowly, with care, and passed down through generations since 1985. Our in house artisans in India some of them being descendants of who worked on Taj Mahal handcraft marble inlay pieces using Parchinkari, the intricate art of marble inlay seen most famously in the 17th Century. Tiny, hand-cut stones were inlaid into marble to create detailed floral and geometric patterns Our mission is to honour heritage, support craftsmanship, and bring meaningful design into homes of those who value work made with time and purpose. At House of Bariki, our pieces are more than objects. They are made with memory, precision, and care. Whether you’re envisioning a bespoke wall artwork, or marble inlay on a fireplace, kitchen backsplash, bathroom wall, basins, shelving, dining table, coffee table or décor elements—we bring your ideas to life. If it’s marble, we can inlay it. The process is entirely done by hand, just as it has been for centuries. It begins with a sketch—inspired by memory, tradition, or even a single flower. Once the design is traced with ferric oxide, semi-precious stones are hand-cut with tweezers. The marble is carved with chisels, then each groove filled, piece by piece, with natural adhesive. The process unfolds slowly—never rushed. The final polish reveals not just beauty, but time, patience, and story. We source natural, semi-precious stones from places like Australia, New Zealand, Afghanistan, Vietnam, Thailand, India, Brazil, DRC, Myanmar, Namibia, USA, Chile, Italy and more. Lapis Lazuli, Turquoise, Carnelian, Levanto, Alicante, Green/White Agate Malachite, Mother of Pearl, Paua Shell, Jasper, Coral, Tiger Eye, and others are selected for their colour, texture, and energy—each hand-shaped to create something truly one-of-a-kind.
