Our Story: Joslyn Abrahams, the name behind the business is a dedication to Nicole’s (founder) grandmother for laying the foundation and passing on her knowledge of sewing, pattern making and being an entrepreneur. She grew up at the House of Joslyn around a family of creative women who always motivated her to continue in the field she is most passionate about. In 2017 Nicole decided to fully dedicate herself to building a brand where all aspects of the business is done in-house. Our Mission: As a brand, we want South Africans to wear House of Joslyn with pride and to support locally produced products. Our main objective is to offer unique, affordable, quality products and to tell a story of diversity, creativity and vibrancy through our collection. What We Do: We design and manufacture a wide range of bags and accessories by combining authentic shweshwe prints, denim, synthetic leather and modern designs. Our collection includes handbags, sling bags, backpacks, cross body bags, purses and more. All our products are lined with our signature turquoise waterproof fabric and embroidered with our logo. Locally Focused: We make it our mission to purchase fabrics from local manufacturers in South Africa as much as possible. Our goal is to bring value to the textile industry as well as building our economy by supporting local suppliers and gaining experience from those with a long history in the industry. Local Creativity: Innovation plays an important part in our business where we are inspired to create original designs, by bringing you the customer along our journey of creating unique pieces. Our brand is about connecting communities through our shared love for new ideas.
