About House of Pads
House of Pads was founded by a mother and daughter women of colour duo, who are passionate about eradicating period poverty and plastic in South Africa. Since 2018, they have combined their skills obtained from a successful career as a Fashion Designer, with a Master’s degree in Justice and Transformation to create a range of high quality reusable menstruation pads. "As a business in fashion, we are dedicated to reduce the waste caused by the industry! We are proud to say that all of our wet bags and totes are created using fabric waste and offcuts." It was important to our founders to create a business with a purpose! As such, House of Pads works closely with various NPO's to ensure that our products are available to vulnerable communities within South Africa. We have recently launched the Skills for Empowerment Workshops, which teaches attendees how to create their own reusable pads by reusing materials available to them!
