It's no secret that homelessness is on the rise in New York City. According to the New York City Department of Homeless Services, over 55,000 people are sheltered every night. That's a 10% increase from 2013 and a 52% increase from 2009. A shelter is only a temporary solution to what has become an epidemic. We work to do more. At Housing Bridge we provide homeless families with a future. By providing access to housing and job opportunities we work to get people off the street and stay off the street. We partner with local establishments to provide jobs with potential for advancement for parents and enrollment in schools for children. Our staff works diligently to help families get their lives back together. After 9 months, families that come through Housing Bridge have the necessary resources to survive and flourish including a stable job, permanent housing, job licensing, and their children's education.
