Through our course, American English for International Doctors, Program Directors can be assured that their international residents will become the confident, compassionate communicators necessary to meet the ACGME Communication Milestones. We provide a diagnostic assessment of spoken English for each international resident to determine specific areas that might be causing miscommunication. We have developed a customized training program designed especially for international doctors to address spoken English struggles. Individual and group sessions give the residents the opportunity to practice patient-centered communication skills such as breaking bad news, dealing with emotional patients and conflict resolution.
