About Houston Youth Hockey Group
Houston Youth Hockey Group (“HYHG”) was formed in 2019, with our current legal entity being established in 2020, as a 501(c)3 non-profit organization. Our straightforward philosophy is to “give every child the chance to experience hockey”. HYHG is governed by a set of Bylaws that are overseen by a Board of Directors with the mission to not only raise awareness of the sport of youth hockey, but to engage with the community in Houston as well. THE COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT: Our goal is to donate dry land equipment to community centers, schools, after school programs, and sports complexes that cannot afford to purchase dry land hockey equipment. The cost of donating this equipment varies by multiple factors. Gear donated includes Sticks, Green Biscuits & Balls, Nets, and in some cases, pennies for game setup. THE COMMUNITY AWARENESS In addition to providing kids with dry land hockey equipment, Houston Youth Hockey Group also attends all community fairs, festivals and events that are financially possible to attend. By attending these events, we not only raise awareness for our organization, but we raise awareness for youth hockey in Houston. These events allow us to fulfill our goal of interacting with local youth.
