About Howard's Folly
Owner Howard Bilton, long term Hong Kong resident Chairman of Sovereign Group, Patron of the Sovereign Art Foundation and wine lover has teamed up with winemaker David Baverstock, an Australian by nationality but long time Portuguese resident who is credited with revolutionising the Portuguese wine industry by introducing new world techniques to old world material. He has won the Portuguese Red Wine Trophy at both the 1999 and 2002 International Wine Challenge, as well as Winemaker of the year (Portugal) 1999, the first non Portuguese winemaker to do so. Howard Folly won 2 bronze and 1 silver medals at HK International Wine and Spirits Competition in 2009.
