About Howells Railway Products Limited
We are a UK Based Manufacturer with both Product and System Design and Development Expertise, offering an Innovative and Diverse Range of Manufactured Products and components to the Rail Industry in the UK and overseas. Originally founded in 1947 by Edward Stanley Howells as a TV and Radio repair shop we’ve travelled a long way from our humble beginnings but we still remain an independent, family-run company with an established reputation for reliability, quality and safety. Known within the Rail Industry for the design and manufacture of Signalling products, we have expanded and diversified significantly in recent years, and now offer a wide variety of Signalling, Track, OLE and T&RS designed, engineered and manufactured products. We also have the capability to evaluate and re-engineer legacy products or equipment where OEM support is no longer available. This specialisation allows mass manufacture alongside the support of obsolete or unsupported equipment. All manufacturing and assembly work is carried out under one roof at our facility in Wythenshawe, Manchester. The plant contains everything required to produce a full and diverse range of equipment from component manufacture through to finished goods. The addition of a further 40,000 ft. sq. for our second CNC workshop enhances our traditional production facility to over 100,000 ft. sq. and includes dedicated sections for hydraulics, CNC machining, welding, fabrication, paint / powder coat and electronics assembly alongside specialised signalling product manufacture cells. Our fabrication facilities have also undergone an extensive upgrade, we can now include laser cutting and laser robotic welding. We are approved to BS EN 1090, ISO9001 and ISO 14001 We are looking to expand our manufacturing portfolio and are seeking opportunities where we can assist in whole or in part manufacture of similar products or components for other companies.
