About Hoya Developers
Hoya Developers is Georgetown University's signature undergraduate software development club. We provide undergraduate students with valuable pre-professional technical experience, learning, and mentorship. Throughout the semester, our members work on project teams with 6-8 developers to design, build, and deploy software applications. Why join Hoya Developers? (For students) 1. Project-Based Technical Experience Students receive the unique opportunity to gain experience working collaboratively on developing a software application. After one semester, all members have an outstanding technical project to add to their portfolio, allowing them to stand out from other students/applicants to technical positions. 2. Learn Industry Standards Throughout the semester, members become familiar with important software development tools and industry frameworks that aren’t taught in a classroom. Our training and hands-on learning serves as the perfect complement to the computer science curriculum. 3. Extended Mentorship All members receive one-on-one mentorship throughout the entire development process. We promote a culture of meaningful feedback and collaboration. Members go from having limited to no coding experience to confident developers in just one semester, ready to apply for the most lucrative technical internships. Is your company looking for exceptional, pro-bono technical services? Our Fall and Spring client projects run 8-12 weeks, starting in September and January. We work with a diverse array of businesses, non-profits, and start-up companies to build professional-quality websites, mobile applications, micro-services, and more. For your project, we assign a team of 6-8 developers specifically dedicated to building your solution. Each project is led by a project manager, who will work closely with you throughout the development of each application. PMs meet weekly with their clients to provide updates and receive feedback on the team’s work.
