Golf can be frustrating at times. When you're on the course, you don't want to worry about the maths that go along with some of the fun games we play. Captains with 6 players can get a little tricky when you're playing silly with Chippies, Fishies, Barkies, Polies, and maybe some Snakes. Throw in side matches with other players in other groups and side matches with other teams, keeping track of the totals can be a tall task. You need to be focusing on your swing and your over there trying to figure out why the numbers don't work out. Oh, and then it turns out you're on hole 14 and you forgot a polie and skin on hole 5. Erase? New Card and start the maths over? You used a 4-color pen? Ugh!! I respect those that take on the burden to keep the scores and balance the numbers through the round. Those of us that do it know that there aren't many volunteers for the job. There are plenty to speak up when the maths are wrong though. This is why I started to build Huckleback in September 2020. Those of us that like to keep score can still do it, but now we can focus on our golf game too. I've been a programmer since 1996. It started off as a web app for my local club. I learned what I needed to so I could build a little tool that we could use on the course. Well, after that worked, others asked me where to find it in the stores. It wasn't in stores and wasn't an app. I went to work learning again in 2023. It's been a ride and I can't wait to see what's next for Huckleback. https://www.huckleback.golf/
