About Huffbooks
Just in the USA alone over 340 million books are thrown into landfill every year. The main limiting factors to reusing books are book lifespan and the cataloguing of books. There is not much that can be fixed about book lifespan but there is a lot we can improve about cataloguing books so they can be sold online. 40% of all books purchased are second handbooks. The main reasons for the purchase of used book are price. Used books are significantly cheaper than new but the lack of convenience is what drives people to buying a new book. There are 1000s of copies of the books you want out there already, gathering dust, waiting to be pulped or put into landfill. Huffbooks idea is to give used books a second life. We are currently working on a marketplace where everyone can sell their books. We plan to use new technologies and technics to improve the convenience of uploading used books.
