About Human Nature Projects Canada
Founded in 2020, Human Nature Projects (HNP) Canada is a youth-led, not-for-profit organization with a mission to increase environmental literacy through education in an effort to inspire meaningful and equitable environmental action. We envision a global, climate-resilient community of environmentalists who act locally while thinking globally to champion sustainability and environmental stewardship. Our work is grounded in our core values: - Unity: We welcome all, recognizing that collective effort is key to tackling the climate crisis. - Diversity: Unique perspectives from varied backgrounds strengthen our mission. - Education: Awareness drives change, so we prioritize educating communities on climate impacts and solutions. - Community: Grassroot actions empower individuals to create meaningful local impacts. - Opportunity: We provide pathways for growth and leadership, enabling youth to champion sustainability. Environment as a Social Determinant of Health: We believe that the climate crisis is a health crisis and that it is the biggest health crisis of the 21st century. To date, HNP Canada has engaged over 10,000 youth globally in environmental education, protection, conservation, and restoration. Our programming is divided into: - Stewardship-based Community Events: We believe in land-based and experiential learning so we host and organize stewardship events such as community cleanups, tree plantings, and invasive plant species removal for youth to make a direct, positive, and meaningful impact in their local communities. - Educational Initiatives: We organize webinars, drives, challenges, and expert-led panels to equip youth with knowledge about environmental issues and empower them with practical solutions to create change. With a foundation built on values and a vision for a sustainable future, HNP Canada is dedicated to inspiring the next generation of environmental leaders. Together, we can act as a united force to create lasting, global change.
