Patient specific models and simulators HumanX develops and manufactures custom-made medical models for preoperative planning and surgical simulation with modern 3D printing technology. The representation of complex pathologies with a realistic model of the patient's anatomy enables the planning of an operation in more detail and the testing of individual aspects with the existing equipment in the operating room. It also supports the correct selection and customization of implants and therefore increases the surgical outcome. Other benefits include improved patient safety, the reduced operation time, the lowering of surgery costs and the shortened in-patient stay. Every model bases on CT or MRI data. Complex anatomy and the representation of implants can be reproduced even with a difficult data base like blooming effects caused by artifacts. The modular surgical simulators allow a realistic training, especially in the areas of cardiology, heart and vascular surgery as well as orthopedics and trauma surgery. Selected pathologies are manufactured by 3D printing technology as a scale-model and integrated into a lifelike patient replica. Each training system includes the associated radiological images and an extensive case report.
