About Hurleyville Performing Arts Centre
Hurleyville Performing Arts Centre is an independent community-supported organization. It houses a cinema, ballroom event space, dance studios, yoga studio, cafe, thrift shop, and gallery. We believe in serving the community by creating shared experiences through the presentation of quality classes, fine arts programming, and with a diverse performing arts series that is accessible to everyone. Our venue sits at the center of a bucolic main street with a children’s playground, basketball & pickle ball courts, restaurants, a high school, and nine miles of Rails-to-Trails that follow ecologically diverse watersheds. The Hurleyville Performing Arts Centre includes a first-run movie theater and has hosted a variety of events including the popular NPR storytellers, the Sullivan County Chamber Orchestra, theatrical productions, dance classes, studio recitals, competitions, and performances. The grand ballroom used as a concert hall and event space is known for its exceptional acoustics and elegant surroundings for guest speakers, corporate and private events, and performances of all types. Vision A vibrant hub for the arts that contribute to an enthusiastically inclusive and environmentally resilient Catskills region. Mission The Hurleyville Performing Arts Centre celebrates the environmental and social diversity of the Catskill region through performance, film, and visual art. HPAC presents bold programs that create shared experiences to inspire, challenge, and connect audiences. Land Acknowledgement “The land upon which we gather is part of the traditional territory of the Lenni-Lenape, called “Lenapehoking.” The Lenape People lived in harmony with one another upon this territory for thousands of years. During the colonial era and early federal period, many were removed west and north, but some also remain among the continuing historical tribal communities of the region.
