HØUSE NEXT is a European initiative based in Denmark, committed to transforming the housing market. We apply mass-production techniques from the automotive industry alongside some clever tricks to be able to finally address Europe’s housing affordability crisis. Why HØUSE NEXT? We started HØUSE NEXT after uncovering a groundbreaking truth: only 5% of a house’s cost comes from the materials in Europe. The remaining 95% is driven by outdated construction methods—where crews spend five to eight months outdoors, installing one nail at a time with handheld tools. The housing industry is overdue for disruption. Like cars, electronics, and countless other products, homes should be built in controlled factory environments—faster, with consistently higher quality, and without weather-related delays and exposure. We know we are not the only housing company that has revealed this truth. A quick search will show an abundance of modular, prefab, and 3D-printed housing companies claiming to solve the housing crisis. However, a review of any home sales page or statistical data will reveal that not a single one of these companies has been able to make a real impact on the continuously increasing cost of housing. We have spent a long time studying both established companies and startups, analyzing why their costs remain so high—often exceeding the price per square meter of traditionally built homes.
