About HVCC Hamburg Vessel Coordination Center
The HVCC Hamburg Vessel Coordination Center is the central, neutral, cross company coordination point for large size vessels, feeder and barges in the Port of Hamburg.Terminals and shipping companies can make use of its operational coordination service for the arrival of vessels in the port of Hamburg, rotation planning within the port and departure after handling – whether they are in charge of a ultra-large container vessel, a bulker or a cruise ship, feeder or inland vessel. The HVCC also functions as a communication interface between the Hamburg Vessel Traffic Service and the Elbe Pilots. There are two departments at the HVCC: The Nautical Terminal Coordination (or NTC) takes care of traffic planning for large size vessels, and the Feeder Logistics Center (or FLC) coordinates feeder vessels and barges within the port. HVCC brings partners and their data together. This process networking benefits all involved as it allows the waters of the river Elbe and Port of Hamburg to be used efficiently. The associated reductions in emissions and energy consumption also help to protect the environment. Also HVCC focusses on digitalisation to promote and enable the connectivity between ports and data exchange of involved partners in the port call. The purpose-built coordination software displays valuable information to port partners and incorporates and interlinks among other data from previous ports, weather forecasts and ship data to reach a better picture and planning base. As part of the port community all is done in close consultation with the relevant stakeholders in authorities, terminals, agents and carriers. Impressum: http://www.hvcc-hamburg.de/de/impressum/
